Our popular group exercise timetable features a wide variety of classes to suit everybodys needs and fitness levels.

Motivating and inspiring instructors, energetic music and the fun and support of a group atmosphere makes training easy. At Aquarena members are enjoying getting in shape together and having fun in the process.

With a huge range of classes available at all times of the day there's definitely a class to suit everyone.

Participants can choose from an extensive timetable of cutting edge classes designed to deliver results and enhance our member's hearts minds and bodies. Low impact flooring combined with outstanding facilities and innovative programming means your choices can be as diverse as a relaxing yoga session through to an energetic Body Step or Body Pump class.

Group exercise

 

With over 60 classes per week you can choose from either low or high impact sessions or classes that maximise fat loss or muscle tone. In fact there are classes by the dozens working all parts of the body and covering a wide range of exercise disciplines from group cycling to the energetic Body Jam.

Class Descriptions:

BodyPump

A non-impact weight training class using easy to adjust barbells. It is ideal for beginners to advanced participants who are interested in muscle strengthening and conditioning. Duration 60 minutes.

BodyCombat

Les Mills Bodycombat is a fiercely energetic program that is inspired by martial arts and draws from a wide array of disciplines such as karate, boxing taekwondo, tai chi and Muay Thai. Supported by driving music and powerful instructors, strike, punch and kick your way to superior cardio fitness.

Boxing Circuit

Improve your cardio fitness and gain upper body strength in this circuit class that alternates between boxing stations and cardio/strength stations. Includes speedball, punch bags, focus pads and skipping. Patrons are advised to bring their own gloves or inserts. However, some gloves are provided.

Body Pump

A non-impact weight training class using easy to adjust barbells. It is ideal for beginners to advanced participants who are interested in muscle strengthening and conditioning. Duration 60 minutes. 

BodyStep

Pre-choreographed step class from Les Mills that is simple, athletic and motivating. A class for beginners to advanced. Duration 60 minutes.

Body Attack

This class is a pre-choreographed high intensity interval workout with simple athletic moves and strength work. A challenging and inspiring class. Body Attack is suitable for all levels, however beginners would be advised to lower the intensity level and impact in the class.

Body Jam

This is a pre-choreographed dance class from Les Mills Body Training Systems that offers a blend of hip hop, funk, latin, jazz and house styles of dance. It is the ultimate fun class. No dance experience required.

Step

This class involves stepping up and down on a platform incorporating upper and lower body moves. Class is suitable for beginners to advanced. Duration 60 minutes.

Step Moves

The class is a more challenging step class suitable for the experienced step participant as it contains increased level of complexity and choreography.

Complete Conditioning

This cardio focused freestyle class has a combination of hilo and step for maximizing fat burning and weight training to sculpt and shape the body. Suitable for the experienced participant as has a higher level of choreography and coordination in class.

Precision Cycling

This is an indoor group cycling class held to music. A safe and effective class that is designed for all fitness levels and ages. Classes run for approx 55 minutes with the exception of 6.15am classes that run for 45 minutes. Towels and drink are compulsory. It is also advised that patrons arrive a few minutes earlier to allow time for setting up of bikes. (Please note: Monday 6pm and 7pm classes are member bookings from 9.30am Monday. Tues, Wed and Friday mornings are member bookings from 5pm the night before).

To guarantee you place, tickets must be collected prior to the start-time of the class. At the start time of the class, uncollected tickets will be made available to other participants.

Yoga

Beg- Adv
A 75 minute class using the practice of yoga postures. Excellent for developing strength, flexibility and correct postural alignment. It encourages relaxation for the mind and body. 

Body Balance

A pre choreographed class taught to music that incorporates principles of yoga, Pilates and tai chi. The class will loosen and strengthen your muscles, Improve posture, flexibility and helps to relieve stress and tension. A must during the week!

Pilates

A class that focuses on strengthening the body's core (torso) to stabilise the back and body. Improve posture, flexibility and great for injury prevention. Classes run for 60 minutes with the exception of Monday and Wednesday 12.05pm and Wednesday 8.30pm that run for 75 minutes.

Please note: This class is not recommended for pregnant women. Please seek the advice of your health care practitioner prior to commencement.

Power Pilates

Power Pilates is a great minimal impact workout that can help you get fit, improve flexibility, improve muscle strength and tone and your overall wellbeing.   Participants learn how to strengthen their bodies and core torso muscles in particular, to prevent injuries of the back and hip. The exercises require fewer repetitions but concentrate on highly precise movements, proper control and form.

It is a more progressive class than a regular mat-work Pilate's class, as it incorporates advanced exercises for the experienced individual who already has a good strength background.  Participants can expect standing Pilates work, balance exercises and traditional floor-work with this style of class.

Zumba

(Beg-Adv) Hypnotic Latin rhythms and easy to follow moves create a fun, and unique dance class. The routines feature interval training sessions where fast and slow rhythms are combined to get your body moving while maximising fat burning.

BodyCombat

(Beg-Adv) Kick and punch your way to fitness. An adrenaline pumping journey! This class incorporates many disciplines from martial arts, kickboxing, boxing, and tai chi. Overall great fitness and strengthening class.

Pryme Aqua

A fun social class involving gentle exercise to music. Designed for the mature age participant for general body conditioning.

Aqua Power

Achieve fitness for any level of participant (Beg to Adv) using a variety of techniques and equipment. Includes: bouyancy dumbells, deep water activities, strength and toning exercises.

Aquacise

Ideal for developing fitness, toning and strength. Suitable for beginner and intermediate levels

Move about Manningham

An aqua exercise class specifically designed for people with disabilities or handicaps. Parents, carers and helpers are required to provide support and assistance to people with severe or multiple disabilities. People assisting the class are provided free entry.

Pryme Circuit

Beginners to intermediate. Class 45 minutes in duration. Circuit format. Specifically designed for mature age participants to increase strength, balance, flexibility, bone density and improved posture. The class is specifically designed to meet the needs of each individual participant.

 

Program Terms and Conditions

Please note that the minimum age for entry into all group exercise classes is 16 years of age. It is also advised that patrons do not enter a class once the first seven minutes has passed. A warm up is an essential part of an exercise class. Casual patrons (not members) must collect tickets no earlier than 10 minutes prior to the class starting.
